Business Insider
There was no topic I did not cover during my time as a breaking news fellow at Insider. While I was responsible for reporting on the events of the day for millions of readers, I also contributed to our "Conflicted Congress" investigation and other long-form reporting projects. Read through some samples of my work on both verticals: Business Insider and Insider.

Southern California Public Radio
In my assistant producer role, I pitched segments, booked guests, managed online content, and conducted pre-interviews for AirTalk, KPCC's largest daily news program. I also fielded calls and assisted in running social media during live broadcasts. Additionally, I wrote freelance pieces for LAist following up on one of the segments I produced on how the food truck industry fought for survival during the pandemic.

Daily Journal
My main focus at the Daily Journal was covering the general counsel beat and writing as many profiles as possible. I also worked on other general assignments, including litigation and new additions to firms, and introduced infographics and data visualizations to the paper in order to boost our online readership. View my articles, profiles, data visualizations and infographics here.

I covered City Council meetings, community events and other notable happenings throughout Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. I also took photos and wrote social media posts in addition to copy editing and designing pages for our weekly paper. Read through the selection of the 60 articles I wrote during my time at the Park Labrea News Beverly Press here.

As my capstone, I pursued an investigative story about railways and the thousands of deaths nationwide that they claim to not be liable for. It is told through the lens of the Clay family, who lost their daughter, Katawna, and their search for answers. Katawna's puppy got loose on the tracks next to their house and both were struck and killed on impact. Read the piece here.
Houston Chronicle
My web design class reworked the presentation of the Chronicle's Right-to-Know Network, which contains databases on chemical storage, shipments and accidents. I wrote code and came up with design elements. The new site can be viewed here.
During the fall of 2018, I fact-checked claims made by politicians in the state of Missouri for PolitiFact. I kept a live buffet of potential facts to check when President Trump held a rally in Columbia, Missouri. My main focus became a monthly recapping podcast that I continued to produce up until my college graduation. The first recap can be listened to here.

In 2018, I worked as a public life reporter covering local government and any notable happenings within the county. From honorary park namings to obituaries, I wrote about a variety of topics. My final piece was a six-month investigation. Take a look at all 25 pieces I published during that time here.
